EVENTS

To raise awareness on teenage depression and mental health, Finding Light has set up multiple events events in the community. We will continue to to the same for substance abuse!
Benefit Concert

On March 2nd, 2018, we held our first benefit concert and were able to raise about $1,500 for the Brain and Behavior Research Foundation. To start off the night, we had a medical professional speak on the topic of depression. Many people sang, danced, or showed off a unique talent. The community was brought together for a night of knowledge, closure, and fun.  We are now planning another concert to shed light on substance abuse!

Workshops

To educate those in our community, we have created presentations on the topics we discuss. Our main goal has always been to bring as much attention be can to our cause. After learning more on the topic, we sometimes do interactive activities such as bracelet making. Activities like this help alleviate stress and improve mental health.

Yoga Seminars

Yoga is a great way to improve mental health and the overall well being of a person. By holding yoga seminars, we reminded those around us that there are easy ways they can reduce stress or anxiety. For one workshop, we also did tie dye for fun. Let us know if you would like to see more of this by contacting us!

Volunteering

As much as we believe raising money to support our causes is important,  we also want to help our community firsthand. Vista Maria is a local home for abused, trafficked, and mentally ill girls. Here we organized fun activities such as painting, origami, and relay games to promote a positive atmosphere for those who are put in unfortunate circumstances. We plan to do more events like this in the future as volunteering opportunities.
